  • The 2018 FIFA World Cup is set to take place this June in Russia with the hosts facing off against Saudi Arabia at the Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow on the 14th. After Russia was awarded the hosting rights in December 2010, the World Cup Tournament would be returning to Europe after 12 years since it was last hosted in Germany, In which the Italians were crowned World Champions. This will be the 21st FIFA World Cup, In which 20 of the 32 teams are making back-to-back World Cup appearances. This will be a first World Cup for the likes of Iceland and Panama, whilst Germany look to defend their status of World Champions. This year’s World Cup will hold a total amount of 64 matches held across 12 different Stadiums located across 11 Russian Cities, with the Final to be held at the Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow on the 15th July.

    GERMANY – The reigning World Champions will be looking to retain that title and with the talent in both the experienced and youth such as Thomas Müller and Leroy Sane, they look to be a dominant force.


    BRAZIL – The ever present, most decorated team will be looking to add another star to their current record of 5 and with the likes of Neymar they will progress very far in the tournament.


    FRANCE – Runner’s up at the latest Euro’s and with the talent of the youngsters that have hit the big time across Europe’s big leagues. The likes of Pogba, Mbappe and Martial will potentially lead their country to glory.

    SPAIN – After their recent tournament disappointment many would not give Spain a chance in this year’s World Cup, however they look to have put that misery behind them, and will go far this year.


    PORTUGAL – The European Champions, will have a boost of confidence with their current status and will look to win their first World Cup at this year, with the help of their captain Cristiano Ronaldo


    BELGIUM – This year’s dark horses, may shock a few spectators as the players at their disposal will give the manager a tough choice when it comes to picking his final team with the likes of Hazard and Mertens.
