Here at All Advertising we have been looking at the new Google Wave tool. We where very impressed this is email as it should be if invented today, and much much more.

Google Wave is a new tool for communication and collaboration on the web, coming later this year. It will be open source and enable web developers to embed the tool directly to web pages and blogs.

What is a wave?

A wave is equal parts conversation and document. People can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.

A wave is shared. Any participant can reply anywhere in the message, edit the content and add participants at any point in the process. Then playback lets anyone rewind the wave to see who said what and when.

A wave is live. With live transmission as you type, participants on a wave can have faster conversations, see edits and interact with extensions in real-time.

Below is an example of how the wave will look, it looks very much like email but is so much more.

The only question we raise about Google Wave is how secure it will be, as it is entirely open source. Maybe a great way to communicate with friends and family but not as a company with secure data? We will see how this develops over the next few months.

In the meantime Google Wave is looking to be "the next big thing" in communication, and as always All Advertising will keep you up to date with the progress and help develop into your sites, blogs etc if appropriate.
